Bearing Press Kit for Intense Bikes
Regular price £28.80
Bearing press tool kit for Intense MTB frame pivots - Carbine, Uzzi, Spider, etc
Each kit is tailor made with all of the tool sizes required to install the bearings from the selected Intense frame (one, two, three or four tool sizes depending on the frame)
Designed to install the sealed cartridge bearings that are found on many brands of bicycle hub and full suspension MTB bike frames. Each tool consists of a pair of spacers (sometimes called drifts) machined to match the bearing’s inside and outside diameters, and a threaded rod to pull the spacers together.
- Designed in the UK
- Most sizes available, small and large
- Bearings are installed straight, kind to frame
Each can be purchased with either T-bar handles or simple nuts. Both of these options include the spacer and threaded rod. The T-bar handles make the tool super-easy to use, while the nuts are a functional and cheaper option and are used with normal spanners.
A 'spacer only' option is offered for buyers who have already purchased the kit with the T-bar handles or the nuts before, and only need the spacers/drifts to fit a different bearing size.
The tool is shaped to press only the outer race of the bearing, meaning that no stress is placed across the bearings, prolonging bearing life and protecting the frame or hub.
Unlike some other bearing press designs, this design closely fits the inside diameter of the bearing to ensure that the tool remains accurately centred and the bearings are pressed in straight.
How To Use
The press tool is simple to use.
Two spacers are supplied which accurately match the size of the bearing. The shape of the spacer ensures that it accurately centres on the bearing, and that pressure is applied to the outer race only.
Tightening the nuts or handles draws the spacers together, pressing the bearing into place. For best results install one bearing at a time.
Note that each tool is specific to one bearing size. It is designed to match the internal and external diameters and can’t be used on bearings with different sizes.

BearingPro tools can be selected either by the bearing size or by the bearing's standard reference code.
Standard references take the form of a three or four digit number, such as 688, or 6902 for example. These codes are often moulded onto the bearing's seal. You might see something like 6902-2RS on the seal. The first digits are the standard reference. The second part (2RS in this case) refers to the seal type and doesn't matter for tool selection.
Note that each tool is specific to one bearing size and can’t be used on bearings with different dimensions.
