The new products are coming thick and fast just now! This one is an obvious next step. We now have bearing presses for the most common bottom bracket bearings: 24x37x7mm, 25x37x7mm and 30x42x7mm.
These two bearing sizes are employed by many bottom bracket manufacturers, including Hope and others, often using the following references:
- MR2437 (24mm ID bearing)
- 6805 (25mm ID bearing)
- 6806 (30mm ID bearing)
Installing bearings straight and accurately is important if you want your bearings to last. It’s particularly critical for bottom bracket bearings; these bearings have a large diameter relative to the width and depth of the races, so are especially vulnerable to damage and premature wear due to misalignment of the races, or twisting during installation.
